A deviant brought a fun contest that was held on here, to my attention. Everyone was invited to draw something again... not tweak a pre-existing piece, but do it all from scratch. The contest was over by the time I heard about it... but the idea stuck with me.
I did not intend to duplicate my GLC cover... but the homage to myself is a 'happy accident'... and kinda fits the theme of that contest.
Looking back... it was the pitiful best that I could do at the time. Didn't know how to ink; or color, or pretty much anything else. I was still trying to figure out how to pencil. I forget who colored it, but Aquaman inker Bob Dvorak did the honors on inks.
That was then ...this is now. I'm still making it up as I go along... but it's all me, myself, and I. I love to collaborate with other artists, but there is a big difference between wanting to work with a colorist and inker, and having to because I don't know how. Might seem like a small difference, but to me it is the difference between blackest night and brightest day.
Keep Kicking Your Own Ass!!! Otherwise we would still be drawing like we did, back in Kindergarten...
(actually... Adam always died, and was always reborn)
Creating Adam is the closest I will ever come to giving birth in the literal sense. It was a really fun gig. He is unlike most other Lanterns out there, and he's all mine, mine, mine!
It always puts a smile on my face when you call me that, ZOMBECO!
It reminds me of one of my favorite TV shows-- "I dream of Genie". I am not one yet... but hope to come close to coming close to mastering some of it one day.
A master that is, not a Genie.
But yeah... I agree with you, the theme of the contest is a great exercise-- I need to do more of the same when I have some free time.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This contest ends on Friday the 18th December 2009. If you want to enter, get your entries in quick! Here are all the entries so far. Also if you want to donate a prize, that would be fantastic too, just note me
